The Friends of Fine Arts and Communication at Texas State University is celebrating its 29th year of supporting the faculty and students in the College of Fine Arts and Communication. The mission of the organization is to promote and facilitate participation in the College of Fine Arts & Communication programs and events at Texas State University-San Marcos.
The Friends support the academic areas of art and design, theatre and dance, music, communication studies, and journalism and mass communication through performance attendance, social events, travel opportunities, and volunteer participation. The Friends are an important support group, attracting new advocates and benefactors for the College of Fine Arts and Communication.
As a member of the Friends, you share a common desire to promote the arts personally, as well as in the community at large. The organization has the following goals:
- Increase awareness of the Texas State University’s College of Fine Arts & Communication;
- Increase attendance at Texas State University Fine Arts & Communication events;
- Increase scholarship awards for the Texas State University College of Fine Arts & Communication programs;
- Recognize & reward faculty excellence;
- Assist where possible in recruiting talented students and faculty to the College of Fine Arts & Communication; and
- Cooperate with community organizations in the promotion of the College of Fine Arts & Communication.
