Dr. Andrew Chen, Assistant Professor of Art History, Featured in Uffizi Gallery Video
Assistant Professor of Art History Andrew Chen was recently featured on the Facebook page of the Uffizi Galleries. Discussing works drawn from the Uffizi's paper collections, Dr. Chen presents ideas related to his current book project, a study of the transformation of allegory in the period that is often referred to as the early modern.
The video was filmed this past spring, when Dr. Chen was based in Florence on a fellowship at Villa I Tatti, the Harvard University Center for Italian Renaissance Studies. Here at Texas State, in addition to teaching the Renaissance to Modern survey, Art History Theories & Methods, and a seminar on Renaissance art in the spring semester, he serves as the new Academic Program Director of the School's Summer Study Abroad Program in Florence. Dr. Chen is excited to be a new member of the faculty and is looking forward to analyzing and discussing works of art with students both here in Texas and abroad!
