Council of Scholars

The Council of Scholars is an honor society that recognizes students who have for three consecutive semesters been a member of the Dean’s List earning a GPA of 3.5 each semester. Only 5% of the College’s majors, on an annual basis, earn the privilege of being inducted into this prestigious honor society. Founded in 1988 the Council of Scholars includes a list of impressive alums who are making significant contributions to their professions, communities, and families. An induction ceremony is held each Spring semester that is steeped in tradition and one that recognizes and honors students and their families who have achieved a consistent record of high academic performance. The ceremony includes inductees being pinned, taking an academic excellence pledge, and heeding a “call to action” to complete their degrees in a timely manner and to encourage other students to improve their academic performance and graduate in a timely manner.
