De Novo, is a documentary play, crafted entirely from immigration court transcripts, interviews and letters tells the gripping true story of fourteen year old Edgar Chocoy and his legal struggle to be allowed to stay in the United States. The performance is dedicated to dispelling ignorance and isolation through the theatrical amplification of unheard voices. The performance runs one hour followed by show discussion with the creative team and immigration and human rights experts.

*Performances designated as "University Arts” are funded through student service fees and is managed by a committee of faculty and staff appointed by the Texas State University Faculty Senate with the goal of bring performing arts to San Marcos that rivals arts programming offered in the world’s largest cultural centers.

Five-time winners of the prestigious Austin Music Award, the Austin Lounge Lizards are arguably the perfect pairing of their hometown’s moniker, “Music Capital of the World,” and its motto: “Keep Austin Weird.” For 33 years, the Lizards have been spoofing the topics American families try to avoid at the Thanksgiving table; subjects like politics, religion, romance, the music industry, and their crazy/stupid relatives. With pointed lyrics, precise harmonies and instrumental expertise, the band has become legendary for its satirical skewering through song.  http://www.austinloungelizards.com (http://www.austinloungelizards.com/)/

*Supple Music Designation - Driven by their passion for the traditional American art form of Folk Music, President Jerry and Cathy Supple established the Supple Folk Music Series. After Jerry’s death, Cathy continues to support this campus activity with additional support provided by the Reed Parr Music Endowment and the generosity of CenturyLink.
