Join Texas State's dynamic and vibrant 17-voice a cappella group VocaLibre, along with some of our finest dancers, instrumentalists and actors for a powerful evening of song, dance, inspiration and holiday classics. In true VocaLibre style, songs spanning genres and generations from classically choral to world music, jazz, pop, folk, and favorite carols will all be woven together around a theme of The Dance: living life fully and freely.

The Texas State String Project is a community outreach program in which Central Texas students in grades K-5 learn to play violin, viola and cello in classes and private lessons taught by Texas State string education majors, under the supervision of Texas State string faculty. At our Winter Concert, String Project students will demonstrate what they have learned this semester by performing solo and ensemble selections.

The Hill Country Youth Chorus will open their concert with an Israeli dance, a Calypso tune and a French art song. Now in their 8th concert season, the singers will kick off the holiday season with familiar carols such as I Saw Three Ships, Pat-a-Pan and Over the River.

The Texas State University Trombone Choir, under the direction of Dr. Martin McCain and the Texas State University Concert Chorale, under the direction of Dr. Jonathan Babcock will collaborate in a holiday concert that will feature Jack Wild's arrangement of Ralph Vaughan-William's Fantasia on Christmas Carols.

The Texas State University Jazz Ensemble will once again join creative forces with the Department of Theatre and Dance for a holiday tradition, the 11th annual performance of Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn’s famous jazz version of The Nutcracker Suite. The performance will feature choreography by Tammy Fife, Christa Oliver and Ana Baer-Carrillo and will include guest artist, Pierre Poree on tenor sax and clarinet.
