Associate Dean of Student Affairs and Retention

  • Chairs all college-wide scholarship selection committees
  • Chairs college curriculum committee and tracks all curriculum matters
  • Administers all student scholarship programs
  • Oversees annual student awards convocation program with administrative support from staff
  • Reports and analyzes freshmen retention and 6th year graduation rates
  • Develops strategies and initiatives to increase retention/graduation rates
  • Resolves student complaints/grievances
  • Communicates with family members about student problems pending FERPA approval
  • Oversees grade appeals and withdrawals

MARY ELLEN

Dr. Mary Ellen Cavitt 
Associate Dean of Faculty Development and Research

  • Assists faculty with identifying and applying for funding to support research/creative activity
  • Serves as liaison to the C3 Center for Communication, Collaboration, and Creativity
  • Mentors faculty in developing their research/creative agenda and teaching
  • Provides faculty members with professional development opportunities
  • Collects and enters Research Outcomes for the College
  • Provides guidance to faculty on the presentation of materials for annual evaluations, re-appointments, and tenure and promotion.
  • Assists Chairs/Directors with the coordination and planning of academic program reviews
  • Assists Dean and Chairs/Directors with development of new degree programs
  • Manages all college-level teaching, research, and service awards and nominations

JOEY MARTIN

Dr. Joey Martin
Associate Dean of Operations and External Communication

  • Conducts needs assessments of academic units to enhance units' facilities (i.e., Planning for and build-out of the Performing Arts Center, Increasing instructional space in the Mitte Building for the School of Art & Design, and Increasing or enhancing instructional and related space for the School of Music)
  • Serves as a liaison with the Facilities Planning Committee
  • Assists with all matters related to new building renovations and relocation of academic units
  • Assesses and develops staffing plan for performing arts venue management (Evans Auditorium, Performing Arts Center) including building, tech, and box-office services and support
  • Manages public relations for the college including the promotion of faculty, staff, and students.
  • Researches, develops, and writes content for college website
