NAEA Student Chapter

The Texas State University Student Chapter of the National Art Education Association is open to membership by students who intend to become art teachers.

Meetings are held twice each month. Dates and times of meetings are determined each semester and membership may be on a semester-by-semester basis.

Membership fee is $5 per semester.

Meeting for Spring 2016 will take place on the first and third Wednesday each month at 5 p.m. in JCM 1124, the fibers room. Dates and topics are as follows:

  • Feb. 17th- Big Art Day Mural Painting
  • Mar. 2nd- Recyclable Art Projects
  • Mar. 23rd – Lesson Planning: Tips, Trick, and Ideas!
  • Apr. 6th – Student Panel for Senior Shows and Student Teaching
  • Apr. 20th- Guest Speaker: Leanne Blackwell, First Year Teacher

Whether or not students join the Student Chapter, they are strongly urged to join both the National Art Education Association and the Texas Art Education Association. Students also are urged to attend the annual conference of TAEA, held in various Texas cities each November.
